Celebrating Music Through Art

At groovearts, we believe music is more than just sound – it's an experience, a memory, a major part of our lives. We are Mark and Peter, and our shared passion for music inspired us to create groovearts.

Our story begins in the mid-'70s at secondary school. We started playing together in prog-rock and folk bands, despite the rising punk explosion. Through Mark's precocious love of music (he was already a concert-goer at age 9!), he introduced me to the artists that shaped our musical journey.

While our paths diverged for a while, music remained a constant in both our lives. Mark's 45-year career in the music industry, as a session musician, producer, journalist, author and graphic designer, gave him a unique, 360-degree perspective. Mark has collaborated with music legends and his expertise led to commissions for bespoke artwork capturing musical memories for artists' homes, studios and exhibitions.

Complementing Mark's skill set, my background is in finance and company startups, however, my deep love for music never faded. When I commissioned Mark for a piece of custom artwork, it sparked the idea for groovearts: a place where music lovers can find distinctive personalised artwork that celebrates their favourite artists, songs, and musical memories, and is a catalyst for lively discussion.
